5 Travel Brands Focused on Diversity

Lack of representation in the travel industry is, unfortunately, not uncommon; most travel brands focus on "one type" of traveler, making it hard for others to fit into this world. Across all aspects of advertising, marketing, and corporate campaigns, diverse audiences want to see themselves and their backgrounds accurately portrayed through narratives/stories that include their identities. Therefore, minority-owned Travel Brands have come about to help other marginalized groups have space within the travel industry.


Brands that uphold DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) create spaces where people of all backgrounds feel embraced and welcomed; they understand the differences between people of different backgrounds and choose to include them in narratives. It's crucial to show representation of all types of people in the travel industry and, honestly, every sector.


Marketing and ads can increase sales and revenue for companies, and diversity can also influence that in specific demographics. However, companies should not only include DEI in their brand for money but also because it is the right thing to do. With all that being said, to counteract the lack of diverse narratives, travel brands have emerged to help tell their stories and show everyone that travel is for everyone. Here are five brands I think everyone should know!



A Blavity Inc.-owned journalism company founded by Zim Ugochukwu to "Inspire Black travelers to explore, plan their journeys, and embrace a lifestyle centered around traveling." They offer advice on traveling worldwide, offering creative and relevant news articles. Check out their guides, which provide information about different destinations, making planning easy!



Dipaways was voted "Top 10 Best Adventure Tour Company Worldwide" alongside the most prestigious and trusted travel brands! They offer group getaways, tours, private getaways, and information for solo travel.



A "global travel community expressing freedom through adventure and creativity." They state, "We travel not to escape but to truly discover how to be better, do more, and embrace this beautiful place that we call Earth." They host monthly group travel experiences and private trips, highlighting that "life is short," so get out there and travel!



An Afro-Latino travel brand that hosts multiple annual trips to the Caribbean, Central, and South American countries. It also offers virtual experiences, book clubs, and a variety of workshops to learn from.



This brand helps "prepare destinations for success by revealing pathways to inclusive, culture-forward brand, marketing, and communications strategies." Danny Guerrero, an accomplished travel and tourism marketing expert with over 20 years of experience, founded the marketing company to highlight the importance of Black and Hispanic travel markets by leading industry-wide research with top brands like Hilton and TripAdvisor.
